The Platypus Adaptations Mini Pack is a ready-to-use Year 1 Science resource that helps students explore how a platypus’s body features help it live in and near freshwater. Through a simple reading, labelling task and exit ticket, students learn about the platypus’s bill, webbed feet, thick fur and freshwater habitat.
Designed to support Australian Curriculum v9 Year 1 Science, this mini pack connects strongly to AC9S1U01 by helping students identify animal needs and describe how a habitat helps an animal meet those needs. It also supports AC9S1I03 as students observe, label and record information about platypus features using scaffolded responses.
